Welcome to Valued Voices

Led by lived experience.

Driven by real people.

Focused on real change.

We turn insight into action.

Our Mission

Valued Voices turns lived experience and working knowledge into practical, meaningful change.

We create accessible inclusion training that gives individuals and organisations the confidence to do inclusion properly from understanding legal rights in the workplace, to navigating difficult conversations around sensitive subjects, and building more inclusive services, teams and communities.

Our approach is practical, cost-effective and grounded in real experience, cutting out unnecessary jargon and middle layers to focus on what actually works.

Alongside our training and consultancy, we champion the voices and stories of local people, connect organisations across the third sector, and create opportunities for people with lived experience to influence the decisions that affect them.

Our aim is simple: to help build a more inclusive Cumbria by making sure lived experience isn’t just heard  it helps shape what happens next.

Our Media

At Valued Voices, we believe good EDI and inclusive practice shouldn’t cost the earth  or require a dictionary full of corporate jargon.

We’re always looking for new, creative ways to make inclusion feel more practical, accessible and human. That means sharing lived experience, challenging the way we traditionally talk about EDI, and creating spaces where difficult subjects can be explored with honesty, humour and a little less formality.

Our free media platforms are another way we do that.

From our slightly unconventional podcast conversations to our Substack, we use real stories, working knowledge and lived experience to explore inclusion from different angles  whether that’s workplace rights, organisational culture, uncomfortable conversations, accessibility, or the realities that often get missed in polished EDI strategies.

They’re free, they’re practical, and they probably don’t sound like your usual inclusion training.

Have a listen, have a read, and come and look at inclusion a little differently with us.

Our Team.

Valued Voices is led by co-founders Cat Robson and Niall McNulty, combining lived experience with strong professional and third-sector knowledge. Cat is an Associate CIPD member with experience in inclusion, accessible practice and employment, bringing lived experience directly into how we approach training and organisational change. Niall brings extensive experience across the third sector, with a strong understanding of community organisations, partnership working and turning ideas into practical opportunities for local people. Together, we combine different perspectives and expertise to make inclusion practical, credible and rooted in the communities we work with.
